Really weird

You know how sometimes when you’re sick you think you’re doing just fine, but then you get to feeling better and realize you were really Messed Up and just didn’t know it?
I would have sworn I wrote a blog post this morning… but I don’t remember what it was about and, in fact, it doesn’t exist.
In retrospect, calling off work today was probably a good decision. (Strep throat. Antibiotics. Much better, thanks.)
The theme: SONGS FOR HAZY MEMORIES.

Fun with Fiction, Part II

I kind of enjoyed that theme. I think there’s some potential here. Let’s try it again… hmmmm…

SONGS FOR CONAN THE CIMMERIAN.

Now that everyone’s gone…

OK, I’ve been AWOL. Gardens don’t tend themselves. At least not my garden, not yet. I do sometimes wonder what I could accomplish with a whole lot of stone, concrete and black plastic.

Just to see if anyone’s still checking in, here’s a theme for you:
SONGS FOR SHERLOCK HOLMES.

Gary Gygax is dead

In memory of the co-creator of “Dungeons and Dragons,” share your all-time best gaming lines.

I’ll start it out with the ultimate line (and you’d better believe I’m laughing as I type this):

“FOOD!” (roared by a gnome in an negligee)

Been busy

So, it has been a while since the last post. I’ve been busy. Among other projects, I’ve learned how to knit hats.

So there’s a Song of the Day theme: SONGS ABOUT HATS.

Predators and Editors

The annual Predators and Editors poll for 2007 is now under way at http://www.critters.org/predpoll/. Anyone can vote for their favorite stories, writers and editors in a number of catergories.

My short story, “Dream Thief,” is nominated for Best Fantasy Story. Steve’s work is nominated in a number of categories.

You can vote for whatever you like, you know. Not that you should consider that a HINT, or anything.

That’s your Song of the Day theme, by the way: HINT, HINT.

Happy news

Read this week’s column to hear about the best part of a truly wonderful Christmas. Here’s a hint: Our song of the day theme is SONGS FOR GETTING ENGAGED.

Roll call

I’m trying to decide if maintaining this blog is even worth it. I know of at least one person who swings by regularly to read my columns but never posts — and I’m wondering if there are more out there who do that.

So if you’re here, please check in now. Oh, and have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS.

If you’d like, make that your theme and share one of your favorite Christmas memories. If you’d rather not, just type “here” or some such thing. (Just let me know you’re here, because otherwise there may not BE a here in the new year. Poetry, dear.)
